Club Philosophy
NOESA’s purpose is to develop players to be able to compete at the next level of competition. Under our professional coaches the proper techniques needed to play at a high level are demonstrated. As a player’s ball skills improve, we begin teaching tactics, beginning with individual and small group tactics which eventually lead up to more advanced team tactics. It is our hope that players will make O.D.P. teams, high school teams, and hopefully college, professional, or even national teams because of their hard work and what they learn from our program. Of course, we try to make everything fun, because if players are enjoying the sport, their desire to play and improve will only increase.
While winning can be fun, the pressure to win is not. Too often games are played for meaningless wins only to satisfy the egos of the clubs, coaches and parents at the expense of player development and quality soccer. It is more important for this club to see improvement in every player than to see our team at the top of the standings playing poor quality soccer. While winning is secondary, we believe that player development will lead to team success without sacrificing attractive team soccer. We also understand that players develop at different rates depending on athletic ability and dedication. In order to accept players of all abilities, we try to have a developmental team for every premier team so players will always have a place to play in the club. With this feeder system, a player can move up to the premier team or back to the developmental team depending on his progress. No other premier club does this, and it further promotes the club’s philosophy of player development.
